So, a prior knowledge of the country you’ll be choosing to study in can help you in understanding the people, culture and also help you adjust to the new environment.
Here are a few things you must know before going to Canada for further studies.

Official languages

Canada has two official languages, English and French. The province of Quebec has a high population of French speakers. So if you are planning to get enrolled in this region, you will be required to learn French in addition to English. However, both French and English are used in the country’s Federal Government Institutions.

Weather

If you are looking forward to studying in Canada, prepare yourself for the winter months. Many parts of the country will be covered with snow during winters. Before leaving for Canada make sure that you are fully prepared and carry suitable clothing to encounter temperatures as low as minus 22 degrees Celsius and snow as high as 4 feet. The entire indoor areas of almost all residential facilities, offices, colleges, stores etc. are centrally heated and a comfortable temperature is maintained. However if you go outdoor you must be prepared. As long as you are indoors or in a vehicle you are fine but even a few minutes outside without appropriate clothing can be lethal.

Public Universities

Most colleges and universities in Canada are publicly accredited and funded. This eventually results in you enjoying a high quality of education at the college/university of your choice. In addition to this, your qualifications will be globally recognised by educators, employers, and governments.

Scholarship for international students

There are many scholarships funded by the government of Canada for international students. Know well about them and apply as per the requirements. This may help you in managing the high cost involved in studying abroad.

Working and studying

It is important for you to know that while studying in Canada you can choose to work. There are many part time jobs available for you while you are studying, students are generally allowed to work for a fixed number of hours per Once you complete your studies, you get a full time job. You are also provided an option to work either on campus or off campus.
It becomes easy for you to settle down in a new country when you have the basic knowledge of culture, educational opportunities, working criteria, etc.
